George Sheffler, for starters. George was born around 1779, based on his estimated ages culled from each census year in which he shows up. I say estimated because he and his offspring were pretty loose with the numbers. Pick a year, any year.
They also lived in the Sheffler Farm area.

Phillip was born in Westmoreland County but lived much of his life in Indiana County, where many of his descendants still live today. He died between 1900 and 1910.
Sunday, January 23, 2005. Elizabeth Sheffler 22 March 1813. Scheibeler, Shiveler, Schaeffler, etc. , were all apparently pronounced much the same. Robert Best has done a lot of research on the line of Elizabeth Sheffler and John Heil.
Frederick Sheffler 2 April 1808. Frederick is my great great great grandfather. He, like his brother before him and his sister after him, married a Heil. Frederick Sheffler and Catharina Heil had seven children together, not one of the seven remaining in Westmoreland County past young-adulthood. At least three of his sons fought in the Civil War.
Sunday, January 23, 2005. Jacob only shows up in two records, his baptism and his confirmation, both in Westmoreland County. However, there is a Jacob Sheffler in later censuses, living back in Northampton County. This is interesting for two reasons.

It appears that the middle names of Samuel C. Samuel and Elizabeth had a large family, but lost two of their oldest sons in the Civil War. Samuel and his oldest surviving son Israel Sheffler rem.
