Sunday, January 23, 2005. Jacob only shows up in two records, his baptism and his confirmation, both in Westmoreland County. However, there is a Jacob Sheffler in later censuses, living back in Northampton County. This is interesting for two reasons. First, most of George Shefflers Lutheran Community contemporaries come from Northampton County in the late 1700s. It appears that the middle names of Samuel C. Samuel and Elizabeth had a large family, but lost two of their oldest sons in the Civil War. Samuel and his oldest surviving son Israel Sheffler rem.
