George Sheffler, for starters. George was born around 1779, based on his estimated ages culled from each census year in which he shows up. I say estimated because he and his offspring were pretty loose with the numbers. Pick a year, any year.

Thursday, February 10, 2005. Levi was born in Westmoreland County PA and served in the 15th PA Cavalry in the Civil War. Maria herself died either during or shortly after the birth of Jessie Mae. They had five more children in all. Ira Lee Sheffler - 1884.
Noah Sheffler born 7 Feb 1844. Noah Sheffler was a Shoemaker, and moved to Allegheny City, Allegheny County sometime between 1870 and 1880, where he shows up with a wife, daughter and 2 sons. Later those three grown children all show up in Lawrence County together. I can not find Noah or his wife anywhere after the 1880 census, however. He had applied for a pension himself in 1869 but no application was made upon his death.
Sunday, January 23, 2005. Jacob only shows up in two records, his baptism and his confirmation, both in Westmoreland County. However, there is a Jacob Sheffler in later censuses, living back in Northampton County. This is interesting for two reasons.

It appears that the middle names of Samuel C. Samuel and Elizabeth had a large family, but lost two of their oldest sons in the Civil War. Samuel and his oldest surviving son Israel Sheffler rem.

Sidney West and George Michael Wolfe. Bud Johnston and Betty Southard Stokes are both great grandchildren of Sidney Elizabeth West and George Michael Wolfe.
