Sunday, January 3, 2010. On our last full day in Florida we stopped by Siesta key just south of Sarasota. The sand was white and had the finest particles I have ever seen. It was a little too cool for swimming but nice to walk on. Mode Aquarium is a rescue hospital for turtles, manatee, dolphins, and sea birds. It was fun to see the animals close up.
Saturday, August 29, 2009. All the better for me. The common understanding is that it is around 1000 years old. I wonder if this area is religious to the native people. I swear I could feel something here, could just be the solitude I am not used to. The trail though the grapevines. This picture does a poor job showing that the plants are over 7 ft tall.
