Sunday, January 3, 2010. On our last full day in Florida we stopped by Siesta key just south of Sarasota. The sand was white and had the finest particles I have ever seen. It was a little too cool for swimming but nice to walk on. Mode Aquarium is a rescue hospital for turtles, manatee, dolphins, and sea birds. It was fun to see the animals close up.

The common understanding is that it is around 1000 years old. I wonder if this area is religious to the native people. I swear I could feel something here, could just be the solitude I am not used to. The trail though the grapevines. This picture does a poor job showing that the plants are over 7 ft tall.CONTENT
