NCS Elementary Art Blog Please click on the links to see what a specific grade is doing. Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Welcome to the NCS Elementary Art Department. I am so excited to be in the classroom teaching your children. We will use many different mediums this year, learn new skills and have a lot of fun! The blog will be updated each week by Sunday.
Tuesday, January 10, 2017. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday break and enjoyed the snow. Fifth graders will be working with protractors this week and how they relate to angles. We will concentrate on the basics for the first class than begin creating Mandalas using radial symmetry-symmetry around a central axis, as in a starfish or a tulip flower. Tuesday, January 10, 2017. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday break and enjoyed the snow. Fourth graders will begin a collaborative project between art and technology this week. We will be talking about persuasion and tying that in with the groundhog. This wee wee will look at a work of art from the North Carolina Museum of Art and talking about that work of art and how it relates to persuasion. Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
