Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Everyday we use our big calender to help us remember what day of the week it is, the month, date and year! We start from the beginning of the month and count to the day we are at. Then, each day,a different student gets to go up to the calender and cross that day out! We love this part! Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The boys in the class have taken us from knights and castles to Japan and ninjas! Lately, the boys have shown a real interest in learning all about ninjas. We started off by looking at a books from the library. We read about where ninjas came from, what they do, and the castles of their era. We had group discussions of our readings to better understand what the children were learning and what their observations were.

With certain materials the children are more interested in the tactile experience while they use other materials like a seasoned pro! With the tape we just couldnt get pass how it stuck to our fingers. We are very familiar with painting. It is one of our favorite ways in performing our art. Crayons are another favorite of ours.
Thursday, January 5, 2012. As we learned about leaves, the class discovered that leaves are not truly green while reading about leaves. The students then began to ask if leaves are not really green, then what color are they? What would we need? 2 a glass bowl. Boiling a leave makes it easier for alcohol to get into the plant. They are encouraged to use their imaginations so we are constantly amazed with the ways they decide to use each material. Also as time passes the teachers have observed that the children have become accustomed to the materials and are more patient when creating their art.
