Monday, July 17, 2006. Book Review - Encountering the Chinese. Is a book written by Hu Wenzhong and Cornelius Grove. The goal of this book is to provide Americans with a basis of how the Chinese think and act. The book is divided into 2 parts. The first part includes topics about addressing and talking to the Chinese, eating, visiting and appointment etiquette, making friends, teachers, and the idea of Face . The book has an informative tone without putting the reader to sleep.
