Because we can boat trip

Because we can boat trip. Another Boat Trip, cause we can. On the 18th of May, a hastily arranged departure from Strawberry Island after collecting some tomato plants for my greenhouse, started with a cup of tea, as ever. The plan was to go to the Boat Inn at Sprotbrough for lunch, and unusually it worked, a fine meal. A walk round Sprotbrough Flash, up the hill and down, about 3K. Then an ice cream and lots of puddings the girls had prepared before. Photos by Paul Booker and Peter Smith.

Mayflower Day - May 2014

Mayflower Day, to celebrate the departure of local boy William Bradford and friends to the New World to avoid persecution in the1690s. But this is now, and it was held on the 5th of May 2014. The Perseids in 2013

This was a good year for a change. We found the Monday to be clear too so some of us came down then too, and saw many more meteors. There were even two members hopefully taking photographs on both nights, though only two photos emerged with a meteor from at least a couple of hundreds.
