Cheshire Cat in Ecuador

Cheshire Cat in Ecuador. Wednesday, July 25, 2007. On the last day we saw several sails in the distance and soon discovered that the sails belonged to local fishing boats from Manta. These engineless old wooden boats each towed a series of small, one man pirogues that were set adrift to fish on their own. They were picked up by the mother ship at the end of the day before returning to port. Nearing Bahia we anchored overnight at a spot called the waiting room reminiscent of dentist? Our trip to Galapa.

Halifax to Bermuda

Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Cheshire Cat and crew ready to sail on the high seas for the first time. The seas were pretty huge as well. It was at least three days before he felt better, and was really able to take his turn with boat work. Nick at the wheel, mostly recovered. When waves came into the cockpit the water came up to our knees - we frantically bailed it out as best we could using buckets. Later I discovered I had lost my lovely Tim H.
