This semester, I have taken a leave of absence from Rice University to live and work in Santiago, Chile. Monday, August 07, 2006. The first and maybe last episode of AMIGOS in Santiago Suchilquitongo is coming to a close. We have been wrapping up our CBI in various ways that have brought sadness but also joy. New mirrors and a stereo have been installed for the dance class and a table is getting transfered for the sewing class tomorrow. I have finished my website on local foods. Wednesday, August 09, 2006. Our last few days in community. So we leave tomorrow which is kind of a weird thought. I think I will miss my host family and town a lot. And the views, like this one. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. I thought it would be appropriate to do a summary of my last week in Oaxaca. The volunteers left Oaxaca last Saturday for Mexico City. On Sunday morning, they left for Houston! It was sad to see them leave on Saturday. It felt I had just been pulling there bags out from the bottom of the bus. The time went by very fast.
