Monday, 20 April 2015. Our new topic for the Summer term is Up our street will help us to learn all about the village our school is in Uppermill and the villages around us. We will carry on learning about Ghana an African country that produced Cocoa and compare how people live there with how we live in Uppermill. We will also be comparing Uppermill to life at the seaside resorts around England. We have been working hard in Maths pretending to be Wizards making potions.
Monday, 18 May 2015. As part of planning our Non-Chronological. , on holiday, in the snow, for a party . As our reports will need to be balanced, we also thought about the positives and negatives of each pair of shoes. Tuesday, 24 February 2015.
In English we have been discovering our five senses to write poems. Tuesday, 12 May 2015. On Monday, Year 3 went to Manchester Museum to be dinosaur detectives. First we had a look at a few fossils. Then we went to a dinosaur crime scene and had to work out who was a victim and a suspect from the evidence. With the evidence we had to decide who was guilty of the crime. To round up the day we all had a photograph under the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Sunday, 29 March 2015.
Sunday, 12 July 2015. Our topic this half term has been comparing an area in North America with our own area. We each took a state to study and put together our own map of Canada. We looked at the art work of Canadian artist Ted Harrison, whose work was inspired by the sea. Sunday, 21 June 2015.
Monday, 9 February 2015. We chose to use the Amazon Rainforest as an area to compare with Saddleworth. Please see our page containing our Amazon Adventure Maths investigation where we had to create our own half term holiday adventure in the Amazon. Working together meant we could check our maths skills to make sure we had enough money. We used many interesting strategies to check our calculations. It was great Fun! Autumn 2.
