The north chancel wall of the church is home to a stained glass window which was designed in 1927 by Karl Parsons and was featured in the 1992 Christmas stamp set issued by the Royal Mail. And church on its hill over.

Hidden Swindon

Spring at last - crocus at the Lawns. Near the entrance to the Lawns in Old Town. Monday, March 08, 2010. Thursday, 7 January 2010. The ruined chancel of the old Holy Rood Church at the Lawns, today. I have written about the Lawns many times on this blog, it would be true to say it is probably my favourite place in Swindon. It is in fact the site of an early prehistoric settlement in the Swindon.
