A bittern in flight over the eastern reedbed and kingfishers darting about there also. Lots of gulls to look at including a colour ring herring gull. According to webring it has been rung in the Isle of Man. A nice 1st winter yellow legged gull also. A Harris hawk was flying around the car park as I was leaving. A couple of hours at the reservoir before shooting off to visit Dad was amazing! I joined Ian, Andrew and Chris on the dam wall. I saw 5 and they were seeing a lot more than I managed to get on! A Wirral birders blog. Birding the Wirral peninsular and beyond. Found on my car as we prepared it for wedding use! Weve still got a few Swifts knocking around and with a large hatch of flying ants over the weekend we had numerous other hirundines over the house along with gulls feasting on the flying insects.
