Thousands of labouriously shaped pieces of paving and roofing slate are patiently nipped and cajoled into shape and held together with waterproof mortar. These take a looong time to make and I place as much weight on their sculptural qualities as I do on their fountainy ones. Friday, July 14, 2006.
