The Yardage Project

Material in the making. Material in the making. I am using the renewable resources of my house such as newspaper, cereal boxes and plastic bags to make bolts of yardage. Woven, sewn or otherwise bound, the textile-like works vary in width, from 3 inches to 10 feet and are all continually growing in length. With each exhibition, the yardage grows in visual and physical complexity and the collective experience creates another kind of indeterminate material-abstract but no less interesting.

When all the sections were complete, students puzzled the pieces together to reveal the famous painting. Fun! Posted by Kate Donnelly. Friday, December 10, 2010.
