Thousands of labouriously shaped pieces of paving and roofing slate are patiently nipped and cajoled into shape and held together with waterproof mortar. These take a looong time to make and I place as much weight on their sculptural qualities as I do on their fountainy ones. Friday, July 14, 2006. This is an unfinished crozier that is a bit more literal than the one below. Just needs some sandblasting, buffing and oxidising with a galactic brew of well chosen acids. Worked as a technician in Art and Design at Swinburne. Great job and part of it was working in the ceramics department. Learnt just enough to be dangerous.
