Orchids, swans, terns and buttercups. The weather has been warm and sunny so a couple of days ago we had a short stroll around Watergate Park which was built on a former colliery spoil heap. You may remember that last year around this time I spotted a beautiful flower which turned out to be a. Yellow iris around the pond and below a group of Buttercups.
Old Town Spring, Houston what a find. Today is a day off between Quilt Market and Festival so we hired a car and travelled out of the City to the north and visited Old Town Spring. It,s a small railway town from the early 1800,s that has been restored. the old houses are now shops which had all sorts of goodies in them. primitive dolls, shabby chic, folk art and even Amish furniture. Tomorrow we are doing a TV interview, so it,s off to bed to get some beauty sleep.

The cycling target has had to take a bit of a back seat for now, with me having cycled only 88 miles out of a 1000 mile annual target. I should be up to around 240 miles by now. Cycling, however, is much more possible in the summer so hopefully this will pick up too. Posted by The Fat Runner.
