Now that the weather is starting to cool off and the leaves are falling, I have the trails pretty much to myself. No white noise, no talking, no music. Posted in A Day in the Life. Not only did I score rock-sta.
This old blog pops up into my mind every now and then. When I do think back on all of those mornings and afternoons spent clicking away on my laptop, trying to desperately share bits and pieces of myself and my days, I feel like I miss it. I miss looking for the joy or the meaning in my days. I miss seeking out the beauty in mundane days.
Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Last night, our first call was at one of the hospitals in our district. A psych patient had barricaded himself at the end of the hallway and armed himself with a chair and a pillowcase with two billiard balls inside. and had gotten into coke and meth, ruining his career, his marriage, his family and his brain. As the kids ate half their cupcake or licked the icing off a donut my tears would drip into my coffee. Renee would slide into the booth with us and as my children coloured her words would soothe my soul. I dont have the bakery or my Renee here.CONTENT
