生物晶片一個最核心個概念就是利用偵測結合來判斷某種生物分子的有無, 在偵測DNA基因上這樣的使用已經沒有問題, 只要有合適的序列就可以. 但是在偵測蛋白質上, 因為要跟蛋白質結合的抗體不容易大量多樣專一生產, 加上螢光標定問題, 所以還侷限在實驗室研究上. 下面這影片是介紹利用DNA分子當骨幹, 把不同的氨基酸結合在DNA的鏈上, 這樣一來就可以賦予DNA更多的性質,可以跟蛋白質結合, 變成人工的抗體. 這技術的一個好處是可以利用目前合成DNA長鏈的技術直接產生抗體, 所以可以克服以往抗體不容易生產的問題, 而來DNA上很容易在加上螢光標定的互補鏈, 可以增加這種分子的功能性.
