Some stories from the 2007 fishing season. Tuesday, May 06, 2008. Wednesday, December 26, 2007. Today I pulled up a nice sized winter flounder in my oyster dredge. It was probably a keeper. But I let it go back into the cold water. Those dinners were the best.
Saturday, January 10, 2009. Well, I failed to continue writing here throughout the fall season. I am not sure why. But it had nothing to do with a lack of fishing or being out on the water. The season was quite good to me. Several days of large bass in the rips of Duxbury and Plymouth and eventually some very large blues came in and stayed.
Saturday, January 9, 2010. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. 11 degrees right now and heading back out for more. Sunday, December 20, 2009. These spoon shells were abundant along the margins of a recent drainer. I took a few home and steamed them up. Admittedly, they are small, but taste great. If only they were a little larger.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Thursday, October 21, 2010. The sunset grew from ok to tremendous in just ten minutes. Things are changing rapidly on the bay. The water temperature has finally dropped significantly, the fish seem to be gone now, cormorants and gulls rule the surface waters, and the days are notably shorter. All this happens within a month. Thursday, October 7, 2010.

But I remember the essence of the final month or so of fishing in Duxbury. And that was the last night out fishing on the bay in 2006. It shattered about 7 inches from the tip.
