Thursday, May 27, 2010. Observations Part II, Quarter 4 FINAL OBSERVATIONS. Venus was visible 3 degrees west from the sun on the horizon. The moon was in its crescent phase, and about 30 degrees to the east of the horizon. Venus was visible 4 degrees NW from the horizon. The moon is no longer visible though a planet that seems to be Saturn is at 20 degrees west from the horizon. What appears to be the planet Mars is quite bright tonight and appe.

It also contains the blue horse head nebula and the star Antares. The blue of the horse head is from by the nearby dust. This globular cluster is visible through small telescope.
