Thursday, May 27, 2010. Observations Part II, Quarter 4 FINAL OBSERVATIONS. Venus was visible 3 degrees west from the sun on the horizon. The moon was in its crescent phase, and about 30 degrees to the east of the horizon. Venus was visible 4 degrees NW from the horizon. The moon is no longer visible though a planet that seems to be Saturn is at 20 degrees west from the horizon. What appears to be the planet Mars is quite bright tonight and appe.
