Sunday, September 20, 2015. Reading Improves Reading- How I finally can get to them all, every day. The Best Way to Improve Reading Skills is to READ. I have finally found a fluency set that is easy for me to keep up with, engaging for my students, and easily shows progress. Originally from the south Texas border city of Laredo, I am the eldest of 3 daughters born to hard working Mexican immigrants who came to the United States in search of a better life for themselves and their families. I attended a private Catholic elementary school and private parochial middle and high school. After graduation, I attended the local community college and university, all the while working in the family business to pay my own way through school.
