Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Using Writing Prompts in My Classroom. I am able to really address their writing needs and keep them actively engaged during our 60-minute block each day, so while it may look different, it has been a great fit for my teaching style. To read more about Writing Groups, start HERE. I came up with some varied prompts in several formats.
Oriental Trading has fixed my sticker shortage . at least for a few weeks! They have such a large and fun selection! My kids went crazy over some of these new choices! My students have sticker charts that when full they earn a trip to the treasure chest. So, most of these will be used for their charts. These monster ones are HUGE! I love these stickers on a roll because I can tear them apart and leave them on their desk or stapled to their papers.
Do you see these labels on these book bins? I made them a few years ago but I never got around to labeling the individual books to match. I finally set aside some time to get that done. Just look at all these cuties! I then needed to make a book hospital.
Saturday, December 3, 2016. I love it when a lesson plan comes together and works out just right! I teach grammar and science this year so I decided to do a reading lesson with a piece of science text. After this, we read small sections of the text chorally. We used our focus question to set our purpose for reading.
Wednesday, April 4, 2018. My students have been doing such a great job reading use our Read and Reveal cards.
