The Bill got most of the passerine coverage and returned totals that included 100 Willow Warblers. On the ground and a steady flow of hirundines. Overhead. Wader variety dropped right off at Ferrybridge, where 2 Sanderlings. And a Little Gull.

African Penguins - Boulders Beach, Western Cape - South Africa - Jan 2015. Monday, 10 August 2015. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Back to a standard morning with little variety on offer other than the nine species of Warbler seen today. First thing it was obvious a small fall of Willow Warblers. Had dropped in, but as usual as soon as the sun broke through the mist, pretty much all the birds departed the headland. Very little moving overhead today.

Black Hole Marsh gets exciting! Wednesday saw a great increase in numbers of waders on the reserve. Afternoon Ringed Plover number was 4, but there were at least 21 there by Sunset. I also found a Ruff today; this is the first patch Ruff of the Autumn. Tuesday, 21 July 2015. Friday, 17 July 2015. A pic of a butterfly to liven up this page! I will rectify this very soon. Sunday, 16 August 2015. I took all these yesterday morning and as you can sees the light changed as it moved around. I went back in the afternoon but by then it was understandably very busy in the island hide. Sunday, 12 July 2015. There are a few kingfishers being seen including this rather waterlogged one. With 4 young were nice to see. Approaching the beach yielded greater rewards with c. Tumbling over one another, 1 Red-throated Diver. Were all present in high numbers. I left Aberdeen by boat at 5pm for the crossing to Kirkwall where I was scheduled to overnight before completing the final stretch of my journey the following morning. At the entrance of Aberdeen harbour, 1 Storm-petrel.

A Busy Bee Day in the Garden. Willow Beauty I think! Marbled Beauty, Bryophila domestica. Pill Woodlouse, Armadillidium vulgare. Solitary Bees hotel with many cells now full with nests of the Leaf-cutter Bee. This Honey Bee has a slight colour variation.
