Friday, March 5, 2010. Brahma is one of the three major gods in Hinduism. In Thailand, Brahma is known as Phra Phrom a creator of the universe. It has four face and eight hands, a feature that was given the name Four Face Buddha. The four faces symbolize the four book of the Vedas, the Hindu scriptures and the source of all the knowledge in the creation of the universe. The eight hands, symbolize the omnipresense and power of the Lord Brahma.

Phra Chinarat Indo-China was created by The Buddhist Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage. Wat Suthat hosted the consecration ceremony where His Holiness Somdej Phra Sangharaja Pae presided as the Chairman. There were over a hundred buddhist monks that attended the ceremony and it was rated as the most auspicious and sacred ceremony ever held. There was an error in this gadget.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Luang Poh Pan, Wat Bang Kho Nom. At the age of 20, he ordained as a Buddhist monk by Luang Poh Soon of Wat Bang Pla Mo. Luang Poh Soon taught him vippassana meditation and traditional medicine. Luang Poh Pan was very well known in traditional medicine and gain respect by the villages as a medicine man. Holy water are made by putting the amulet in a bowl of water.

He spoke several languages like Mon, Chinese, Khom and Thai. He also completed the highest level of dharma studies in 1944. He passed away on the 21st. January 1988 at the age of 87. His most popular amulet is the Garuda and somdej sitting over a hog which was consecrated in 1979.

Sunday, August 23, 2009. Wat Ling Khop is a temple located in Bangkok Noi, Thonburi. In 1809, King Rama II declared it as Wat Bovornmongkol. Wat Bovornmongkol went thru a major renovation in 1966, and during that time the temple excavated a few big jars filled with lotus shape amulets.
