My cousin got married, I traveled, I relaxed, I visited family and friends, and I gained weight. I have been back in Alaska since August 2nd. My Next 30 Years! Monday, May 23, 2016. The Time Has Come! Hmmmwell. My time in Shishmaref, Alaska has come to an end. It marks the end of my time here in this remote Inupiat Eskimo village just south of the Arctic Circle and 100 miles across the Chukchi Sea from Russia. It marks the end of my 35 years of teaching.
