My name is Rhea Ann Brewer. I am currently teaching 7th grade Science at the Monticello Middle School. I am also enrolled in the MAT program at the U of A Monticello. I received my Associates degree in Radiologic Technology and my Bachelors of Science in Imagaing Science Management. I hope to graduate in the Spring of 2011 mith my Masters of Art in Teaching. I am learning more than my students. Or atleast I put in more study hours a night than they do! On the same material! .

Each student chose either a black or white piece of cardstock paper. Then I provided them with marker, art supplies, various shapes and objects. They also had a questionaire with three questions. They were not doing their homework, participating in class, or studying for any type of quiz or test. So, I decided to try a different approach. I assigned them a project that, I hoped, would motivate them enough to take some initiative to learn the material.

Last Friday we celebrated the 1st Annual Character Day at Crossett Middle School. Students and staff were encouraged to dress up as a favorite character from a book. I was Velma from Scooby Doo!
