Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Raps, Posters, and Mobiles, Oh My! I have really been struggling to motivate my Pre-Algebra class to do, well, ANYTHING. They were not doing their homework, participating in class, or studying for any type of quiz or test. So, I decided to try a different approach. I assigned them a project that, I hoped, would motivate them enough to take some initiative to learn the material.

Each student chose either a black or white piece of cardstock paper. Then I provided them with marker, art supplies, various shapes and objects. They also had a questionaire with three questions. I am new teaching and have no real classroom experience so the most benefit of this for me was helping to relieve some of my fear. Its one thing to read about classroom lessons in books and it is another to experience them first hand. Overall, I benefited tremendously from these teachers insight and their exam.
