Perhaps the best bird ringing blog in Cardiff. Monday, 8 August 2016. Sunday is a day for enjoyment. The Cardiff Ringers are no stranger to enjoyment and relaxation, especially the kind that is measured in pints. But this Sunday, The Ginger Fishermen found some new pastimes for us. A nice walk in the countryside followed by some tree climbing and three feathered pastimes were inducted in to the ringing scheme.
Bird news from Montgomeryshire, Wales . Foel A male has arrived, also one at Pwll Penarth. Wern 3 at garden feeders. One in private garden from 2nd but no sign on 4th. First returning bird of 2018 today. 2 in private garden today and Brambling.
We are a group of bird ringers based on the North Pembrokeshire and South Ceredigion border at the Teifi Marshes near Cilgerran. Thursday, 13 August 2015. Sedge Warblers are moving . Only eight Sedge and six Reed Warblers ringed this morning in the Mallard run nets, still low numbers for us, and perhaps surprising with numbers being caught in Cornwall. Sunday, 26 July 2015.

Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Things are certainly on the move with migrating birds passing through and gulls returning to their wintering sites. We have had several reports of continental birds already back at Whitehouse Lagoon, Belfast Lough and at Antrim, Lough Neagh. A couple of weeks back, Cameron Moore got lucky and he photographed several colour-ringed Sandwich Terns at Whitehead, Belfast Lough.
