I can now reveal that I am retiring from my firm and returning permanently to the UK. The tandem and Tri bikes in Bahrain are sold, and the other two bikes are packed and looking forward to joining my bike stable in the UK. So the title of this blog is now redundant. Linking back to it for the historical record. Thank you for letting me share my journey to date with you. Happy stalking for the future! Off to Isle of W.

It opened up on the straight road through Epping Forest and went smoothly after that. Weather good but because sweated felt cold at the stops. Crashed on beach, queued for tickets for coach, to put bikes on transport, for a bacon roll and beer, to get onto coach. Well, actually Lulu did most of the queuing for me.

Appalachian Trail Journal 2012

Thursday, 6 June 2013. Aargh-grrrrr - the rocks are killing me. I think we were really speeding through the southern part of the state when I last blogged a couple of weeks ago. That is certainly not the case now. The terrain really began to deteriorate as we dropped down to Duncannon, an old iron processing town on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Sunday, 26 May 2013.

Coast to Coast Sustrans route

Weekend of 13 Sept 2002. I no longer had job. The weather forecast looked good everywhere. The days were still long. The rest of the family were otherwise occupied that weekend. I had been fantasizing over the Sustrans map and C2C guide for some time and never really expected to get my act together to go, but on an impulse the weekend of 13 Sept seemed too good to miss. Had I over done it? The sun was shining, the sea looked friendly.
