This bird was causing a bit of a stir and turning a few heads a moulty white headed Ruff but it stood out from the rest. The Black-tailed Godwits were also in heavy moult but this one was quite presentable.

With a bit of watching from the car park I was able to work out where a favoured feeding area was. So a short walk managed to get us far better views than we could get from the RSPB view point. With the promise of a sunny and wind free day, i took a chance of a trip to Cullercoats to glimpse the Black Redstart. Could not get close as i cant handle steps, so had to settle for a perch above the bird.
