You can click each image to enlarge it. Sunday, April 27, 2008. If you look around, you can find similar log homes were also built in the US. This little house was built of logs cut from a pine board, but you could use square dowels from the lumber yard. Next I prepared to add windows.
Click on the pictures to enlarge them. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. A can of Danish Christmas cookies illustrated with works by the Dutch artist Rien Portvliet was the inspiration for this project. My family comes from Lithuania, and log homes were a tradition there, as in other northern European lands. My mother was actually born in a log cottage.
Friday, November 2, 2007. Here you see the home of Miss Ida Nutkin. Miss Ida, for I feel I can call her that, having worked with her so closely for the past several months, finds it cozy and more than adequate for her needs. Here we see Miss Nutkin at her door luxuriating in the morning sun. Next you can see how the Nuthouse was created. It took me 22 days to complete this project. 22 working days, that is. In calendar time, it took quite a bit longer.
Click on each picture for a larger view. This is a project that was inspired by early 20th century American bungalows. Clay bricks were used for the bottom of the posts and the walks. I wanted my bricks to be a bit redder in color, so I painted them. I also carved a tree panel for the front door. The knocker was made from a piece of an earring. By the way, the lo.

After mama passed away I got the kitchen back. It met with an accident on the flight home, and I had to make some repairs. You can see more picture of the kitchen.
