The setting is North America around the time of the Revolution. The black baseboards are another authentic touch. The floor in front of the fireplace is brick. The bricks were made of stripwood, with beveled edges. The lower opening was used as a warming oven. I spray painted the cupboard hutch green. The original finish was oak or pine. I took apart an unpainte.
