Sunday, 18 March 2018. Winter birding in Tenerife. Seems like a long time ago now but at the end of January Polina and I headed off to Tenerife for some winter sun. It wasnt a birding trip but I did have one day to myself to go birding. I really wanted to see Blue Chaffinch so that had to be my number one target in the time I had available. Laurel Pigeon and Bolles Pigeon would be nice too. Chaffinch which I had seen in 2015 in Madeira and a very smart bird they are too and teneriffae. Obviously ther.

Drimnagh Birdwatch

Thursday, January 3, 2013. After Mike Conn gave a full refund on my broken Sigma 150-500 zoom lens, I put the money away safely and started looking for alternative lens options, which for the same price with the same reach, were non existent. And the money from my lens was gone.

The last couple of weeks. Since the delights of the Bee-eaters at Theberton, there have still been some really successful trips in the last few weeks. The next bird to go on the list was Nuthatch, where we had tried 3 times for this elusive bird in Shrubland Wood this year and failed. Well, on July 23rd, we finally saw one, calling and moving around the wood with a tit flock.

Photos of birds and occasional words. Thursday, 12 May 2016. Here are my highlights from April. Few migrants for me, but lots of big clouds and opportunities for some landscape photography. I did manage to squeeze a Wheatear in before the end of the month though! Some of these photos have appeared on my social feeds, but some not. Some might yet make it onto my website. Enough words, I hope you enjoy the images. First Wheatear of the year. Thursday, 31 March 2016. More of my photos o.

Thought my latest post would be an Autumnal theme, as my last was a spring gallery. Here are some images of Forty Hall Farm Orchard taken on the last Sunday in October. A misty start, but made the orchard very photographic. Although we had made cider back in early October, the Black Dabinett Cider apples seem to have got left, shame they never got used, but they make a good image. There was some frost, and it shows here in the Red Sentinel Crabapples.
