Sunday, December 14, 2014. Summative Project and Artist Statement. Using Visual Thinking Strategies in my classroom has benefitted me in so many ways. I have been most struck by its focus on patience, quiet, and listening. VTS, in some ways, mirrors my philosophy on life by placing so much importance on the true, careful art of these ideas. The pumpkin itself might symbolize the container that we create by laying down the guidelines for VTS students, and also the bounty of ideas that are present within the discussion itself. I am an abstract painter, and although this style may seem like a logical approach for me to take, I was hesitant towards summing up my experience in VTS-I in this regard.

Sunday, December 14, 2014. There were a lot of moments that stood out during my experience with VTS this semester. For this project I focus on some of the biggest moments through 4 paintings. The paintings are constructed to look reminiscent of medieval books because I wanted to tell my story using visuals and text.
