Sunday, 2 August 2015. A two day trip with mid July to the beautiful and verdant island of Madeira to get a few more Western Pal birds under my belt. Saturday morning from Gatwick, returning on Monday early evening. Cheap hotel with a rooftop swimming pool but in dire need of air-con . Excellent and cheap food throughout.
Tuesday, 2 June 2015. No alarms and no surprises. It has been a while since I last wrote an update about my patch birding exploits on either of my Larne Lough or Rathlin patches. Fear not, I am still putting in as much time and effort this year but seem to be caught in a bit of birding lull at the moment with very few. Moments on either patch thus far. Saying that, I have still managed a few. On the sea below the East Light. A better day was had on 16.

Friday, June 12, 2015. News of a calling corncrake. On Galley Head on Wednesday evening was very exciting - after a time extension deal was struck for minecraft enthusiasts, I was allowed to drag them out to hear it. Forgot how loud they can be! This was my first at Galley, and in Ireland, but heard only patch tickage was the only option due to the habitat. Would be great if it hangs on! Earlier that evening wed done some more twitching, this time to see a striped hawkmoth. Tuesday, April 28, 2015.CONTENT
