It is designed to use one skein of Noro or colorful sock yarn, but I did it in some barely colored handspun. That has been marinating in the stash for some time. The extra nice part this year is that my best friend from college was here for a few days. her husband ran in a marathon on sunday so it has been nice to get together and catch up with her and her family. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Nearly a year has passed since my last entry. So many events have transpired in my life since then - the worst being an emergency appendectomy gone awry. A blood clot followed by an abscess and an allergic reaction to the pain meds led to weeks in the hospital. Oh, and I nearly forgot the collapsed lung. I felt my world was spiraling out of control and there was no way to stop it. Wednesday, October 7, 2009. I took the plunge and enrolled in online classes.

Sunday, August 10, 2008. The Anniversary - It has finally arrived! 31,536,000 seconds. There are so many more memories to that morning. Perhaps another year, another time I will be able to share them with others without such overwhelming emptiness and tears. But I can say that Gordon and I were forever changed in those moments that morning, our bond strengthened even more. In death, as in life, you once again deeply touched our lives.

Thursday, January 29, 2009. We are a few days away from possibly achieving a first in the NFL - the first team in history to win the Super Bowl six times. But through it all, we grew as a couple. We grew as a little family. We learned to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and pay our own way in the world. The money was tight, but we managed. And we solidified our bond. Here we go, Steelers!
