The first post on the local kestrels covered 3 day; this post covers the next 2 days. Day 4 was exactly as day 3 in that 2 of the young had left the nest hole and were sitting on the cliff top and 2 were still in the hole. Progress was slow but by the time I left it was only around 6 feet from the cliff top.

Thursday, 29 August 2013. I met Dave Mairs on the walk, and while chatting we found at least 3 Spotted and 1 Pied Flycatcher. We walked on to the area where I usually see Adonis Blues, and although it was really quite windy we were in luck and found a few of these lovely bright blue butterflies. I also saw briefly a single Silver-spotted Skipper, plus several Wall Browns. A really nice relaxing day out. Sunday, 11 August 2013. Wood Sandpipers at Coldharbour lagoon.

Mega Flock of Little Terns plus Plenty of Waders at Oare. Mega flock of Little Terns. I paid an evening visit to Oare Marshes yesterday the 6th August in the hope of seeing the large number of Little Terns. That had been reported and wow what a sight it was to , the most i can ever recall seeing in a single flock , the agreed amount was 220 birds roosting on the East Flood , every so often they were spooked by a juvenile gull and took to the air giving a tremendous spectacle.

I will not be updating this Blog anymore, there just is not enough time in the day to keep all the sites up to date. I was going to delete this Blog but I know some people use it as means of getting to my Flickr and Picasa sites. So those links will remain but no further blogs will be posted. Thanks for all the comments over the past couple of years, I appreciate each and every one.
