Cheshire Cat and her crew were at last heading out up the inside of the Great Barrier Reef and over the top to Darwin. Mike and I checking out the little lagoon in Percy Island. Tuesday, June 26, 2007. We found this attractive little street just off the waterfront. Bonaire was a refreshing change from Venezuela and the Caribbean - clean, calm and safe, with pristine water and pretty fish. There is a thriving tourist industry and also a salt exporting industry. There is good diving here and there is a very popular surf beach on the windward side of the island.
Saturday, March 21, 2009. P2P rally; around and about in OZ. Port to Port rally boats in Bundaberg Port Marina - dressed and ready for inspection. We arrived in a flurry and a hurry from New Caledonia on the Port to Port Rally. The weather was kind to us - we travelled with Neptune and Songster, but we left a little later than some of the other yachts. Luckily we managed to get a dock at the Bundaberg Port Marina and enjoyed a few days of relaxation and fun with our rally companions.

Wednesday, July 25, 2007. On the last day we saw several sails in the distance and soon discovered that the sails belonged to local fishing boats from Manta. These engineless old wooden boats each towed a series of small, one man pirogues that were set adrift to fish on their own. They were picked up by the mother ship at the end of the day before returning to port.
