Tuesday, 26 April 2016. I managed a couple of hours out early Sunday morning. Tittesworth very little had changed although i did see 6 wild Barnacle Geese! A run around the Roaches got me a female Ring Ouzel although it was very flighty. Else where up the moors only a Tree Pipit new in. A great sound when in full song. Wednesday, 20 April 2016. We left Bardsey on the 21. Our thanks go to everyone who helped us to fulfil our dream and helped us to maintain it for seven months, but especially to our children, Jenny and Mike, who kept the home fires burning and kept up the supply of chocolate. Wednesday, 4 June 2014. He was laid to rest last week at Llanrhos after a service recalling his twitching, local birding and ringing jaunts. It was fitting that the area around the Church was buzzing with House Martins and Swallows. Our thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.
African Penguins - Boulders Beach, Western Cape - South Africa - Jan 2015. Monday, 10 August 2015. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Back to a standard morning with little variety on offer other than the nine species of Warbler seen today. First thing it was obvious a small fall of Willow Warblers. Had dropped in, but as usual as soon as the sun broke through the mist, pretty much all the birds departed the headland. Very little moving overhead today.
It was a very windy morning with a force 5 gusting 6-7. The wind dropped by the afternoon and a few sheltered nets were opened. Photos were sent to Martin Garner for confirmation. Both Martin and Adam Hut agreed that it was a Northern Treecreeper. A much quieter day with only 10 new birds. A yellow-browed warbler was trapped on the second round. Wednesday, 27 August 2014.
