Our classes build respect, confidence, leadership skills and focus in kids of all ages. Kids simply love these classes and that love brings them the skills they need to succeed in life. Our weekly field trips fall on the Mondays and Wednesdays of every week during the Summer. This years focus will be on attending Bush Gardens .
Saturday, December 11, 2010. Students were given a section of a contour drawing of a famous painting. Responding to just the lines on the section, the students composed a colorful image. I have been exploring dyeing, printing, stamping, and art cloth in my own work. This has been so much fun that I knew I had to add this type of work to my classroom curriculum. Through the help of DonorsChoose. I was able to get a Thermofax. Machine and hoops so I could introduce printing and embroidery to my students.
ASAP stands for After-School Art Program. This is a volunteer program designed to provide art exposure to children who participate in after-school daycare programs. ASAP requires very little money to start a program and it is a great way to provide art exposure through a variety of art mediums to children. August 2011 ASAP begins as a volunteer initiative by Ali Skinner at Franklin Elementary in Vincennes, Indiana with 30 students in after school care.
