Friday, 15 April 2011. Having completed this module I am confident that I can use all the basic features and also some complex ones. I was apprehensive in the first half of the semester that I would not be able to model everything on my storyboard. Although I did not do every scene I had originally planned, I know that the ones I have done have sufficiently covered all the techniques that were shown in the tutorials. Thursday, 14 April 2011.
Thursday, 14 April 2011. I found that the hardest part of the course was the model making as I have never been very artistic and this really let me down. It also made animating more difficult in certain ways, for example my james bond character model was twice as hard to animate as it should have been because I modeled him with his arms and legs to close to his body. The final animation was finished after the last scene was completed. I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 to edit .
Thursday, 7 April 2011. The overall animation has very well stuck to the original storyboard there are some scenes that have been edited in different ways, contain additional material or do not include sectors that were in the storyboard. This is because any alterations that were considered were to improve the animation or to simplify it. The overall result was not a desired smooth rotation but did give the impression of a rotating propeller.
Friday, 15 April 2011. Well what can I say about my first few weeks learning 3d modeling techniques? During this module I have come to realise that my strengths are;. I can generate quite a few different ideas when approached with a brief. Again I have listed this as a strength, although like my previous strength I feel that this hindered me during my time management as I may have spent too long deciding which direction to go. I am very pleased with the outcome of my first 3d animation, I have learnt so much in so little time and look forward to experimenting more with the features available to 3DS Max.
