Friday, 10 April 2009. Back to main 10-1 site. I am a student in my fourth year at the Arts Institute in Bournemouth studying fine art. I am currently working towards exhibiting at the Lighthouse Gallery in Poole.
Thursday, 2 April 2009. The rewarding sound of smashing china makes this method of creating art quite exhilarating! Sunday, 29 March 2009. Shot with an air rifle at close range. The fascinating thing about ceramic destruction is that nothing is revealed until the fragments are painstakingly reassembled when the forces gradually become clear. It is like a strange reverse slow-motion.
Inspired by the natural world and intrigued by the diversity in evolution, my work for this exhibition explores ambiguous relationships between nature and the human body.
I am a naturalist recording a world fast approaching a cataclysmic change. As I continue to draw I bring a shadow of immortality to the life I capture. The laws are different here.
