On November 21, 2009, four Rotarians and their three guests made the trek to Cooperstown, New York, to turn over the mitt to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The entourage was met by former Chief Curator Ted Spencer. Spencer, named after legendary Ted Williams, is a walking encyclopedia of baseball history. Spencer spent almost two hours with the Rotarians sharing stories of baseball, history, and Americana.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Bayeux Cathedral came through the Battle of Normandy unscathed and in 2014 it became the home of a new memorial bell named Thérèse-Bénédicte.
