This is mainly due to the fact that my Dad had taken ill early in August and sadly, unexpectedly, died on Tuesday 31st August 2010. As you can imagine this has been very hard for all of us in our family to come to terms with especially as, at the time of writing this, his funeral is yet to take place. Sunday, 8 August 2010. Amazingly, there have been one or two days with some nice weather since we broke up and so for one of our Family Days Out we decided to go to Cheesden Valley, near Bury. The walk took us up a hill to a TV mast and then over into a gorgevalley where there are ruins of old Victorian mills. We walked a bit further on and guess what we saw? What a fascinating walk!
