Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I finally got around to visiting some of the small galleries in my neighborhood this past Saturday. I saw some art and commerce and had nice interaction, especially a surprise conversation about Eastern Europe with the insightful Latvian-American who turns out to be my neighbor. She proceeded to explain to me that minimalism was just reducing something until it could be reduced no farther, a stripping bare.

Today I have finished reading Between the World and Me. In the New York Times where somehow he has the fortitude to keep telling the stories as one after another of our fellow humans succumbs to the unwritten American rule that Black bodies are expendable.
