From Baggy to Bitchin - A weight loss journey. Saturday, June 26, 2010. G8, G20 - 26JUN10. This is not my typical blog but I had to put something in writing. Living in Toronto we are keenly aware of all the security that has been put in place for the G20 and G8. I approve as we have seen what protestors have done in other countries that held these events. What I do not approve of is the vandalism being created by the black masked group. I saw someone carrying a hammer and looking to use it.
Monday, November 2, 2009. Gang over to steward the beginnings of our gardens. Next, notice how we no longer have a mud pit. And, here, Michael, Art, and a helper prepare our new garden bed for the spring. Not sure you can see all the flags in the picture, but we will have a nice sweeping garden bed all around the yard. I have never seen calla lilies growing on a farm before so I was glad that our timing was perfect for their apparently short season. After winding along a narrow mountain road and enjoying a lunch at a famous outdoor restaurant, we walked among the fields of lilies.

The day after being flown over to the continent of Antarctica and we awake to a days plan that has us heading over to Devils Island to see an Adelie penguin colony. Based on the group numbers and the order shuffling that works to make sure everyone gets a chance at the front of the line, we are scheduled to take our second trip on the helicopters just before lunch is served.
