We were given the option of taking another transfer to another country leaving in the next month or so or we could call it a day and close our service. We have chosen to do the latter. This was a very difficult decision for us to make and we are very disappointed not to have been able to complete our service under such circumstances. Talk to you soon,. A journal of my Peace Corps service in the Republic of Georgia, 2006-2008. Monday, April 25, 2011. The war was a sad and shocking end to my Peace Corps service, as these final posts reflect. The good news, however, is that the ultimate nightmare scenarios did not come to be. Things were tragically set back, but the resilient Georgians picked up the pieces and moved on with the rebuilding and reforming of their nation.
After months of temping, I returned to the job search. I spent the past two weeks sending out professional resumes and nary a nibble. As an act of self-therapy, I wrote up a completely unprofessional resume. A day later I got a call from one of the companies asking for an interview. What the hell? BA in Political Science, 2002.
